at CANIETI’s 28th National Annual Convention
• The program invites national
companies to join this effort to promote the Mexican IT Industry abroad
Merida, Yucatán. November 2007 – MexicoIT, an initiative created by the Mexican
IT private sector, had a strong representation during the 28th National Annual
Convention of the Mexican Chamber of Electronics Telecommunications and
Information Technologies Industries (CANIETI), in order to promote and
strengthen relations with some of the most important players within the ITC
industry, including the companies top management representatives and governemt
authorities.
“We are here to communicate all the project’s benefits and objectives, and to
invite all those Mexican companies who have the required capabilities to join
this effort to help position our IT industry abroad,” said Rogelio Garza,
MexicoIT’s spokesperson and CANIETI’s general manager. “Our mission - as one of
the leading organizations in this sector - seeks to increase the global markets’
awareness regarding the benefits of the quality services, the innovative
solutions, our highly qualified specialists, and solid infrastructure that
Mexican companies offer, as well as the incentives that Mexican states offer in
order to attract IT investment.”
MexicoIT’s main spokespersons attended the event, including María del Rocío
Ruiz, Under Secretary of Industry and Commerce; Sergio Carrera, Commerce and
Digital Economy Director, both from the Ministry of Economy; as well as Eduardo
Ruiz Esparza and Rogelio Garza, CANIETI’s president and general manager,
respectively. Mónica Senderos, MexicoIT director and Elisa Muñoz, project leader,
also attended the event, promoting among the participants this industry and
government joint effort.
During her presentation “ITC:
Essentials Elements to Generate Competitiveness and Digital Inclusion”, Ms.
Rocío Ruiz highlighted the progress within the technology sector, an industry
for which the country is committed to improve the private sector conditions to
encourage investment, by offering fiscal and monetary policies, and a solid
financial system. In that regard, companies interested in investing in Mexico
can access financial incentives through the MexicoIT program.
“Mexico has strengthened its position as an important player as IT services
provider worldwide. To stimulate such growth, the private Mexican IT industry –
supported by the Prosoft program -, created MexicoIT, with the objective of
helping enhance the awareness and recognition about our added values our IT
services can offer companies in countries such as the United States; as well as
to encourage them to invest in our country,” said Mónica Senderos.
Rogelio Garza emphasized that Yucatán offers great opportunities for investment,
as it is an entity that has acknowledged the technological development potential,
and adds true nearshoring benefits to the State of Florida, in the U.S.
At MexicoIT’s booth at the Third National Business Meeting exhibition within the
28th Convention, the program’s representatives were available to address the
attendees’ specific questions regarding technology outsourcing opportunities for
Mexico in other countries.
